What is a developing country?

A more economically developed country (MEDC) tends to have higher standards of living, more infrastructure, and a higher gross domestic product (GDP).
A less economically developed country (LEDC) tends to have a lower standard of living, less infrastructure, and a lower GDP.

There are also newly industrialised countries (NIC) and emerging economies (EE).

The Human Development Index (HDI) measures key dimensions of human development: life expectancy, education and income.

Should we continue to use the term “developing world”?
But the terms “developing world” and “developing country” are tricky because it might be seen that we're judging the development status of any country.
